About the Program

MRFC has two adult soccer programs:

Adult Competitive – The Adult Competitive men’s and women’s program is an adult amateur soccer league and is part of the Cascadia Premier League based in Washington and Oregon.

Co-Ed Adult 7v7 Recreational – Our Co-Ed Adult 7v7 Soccer Program is a low-key, no-pressure, recreational league for adults who want to dust off their cleats and have fun!

We are very excited to offer both of these programs to the community.

Adult Competitive

The Cascadia Premier League (CPL) is a competitive men’s and women’s adult soccer league. The Adult Competitive program will further expand on our premier program while offering former, current/new premier players (17 and older) further opportunities to grow/develop as well as allowing MRFC alumni the opportunity to continue being a part of the MRFC family while continuing playing for and representing the club.

The Cascadia Premier League consists of various teams throughout the Pacific Northwest and has installed a promotion and relegation system through the leagues levels. Stay tuned for more information.

Adult Co-Ed 7v7 Soccer Program

Tired of dropping off your kids at practice and not getting to play? Well now it’s your turn…and we’re going old school!

Come play with friends and meet new ones in this fun low-key format. The 7v7 league will be fashioned after a neighborhood pick-up game. No practices, no coaches, just show up and play. We have two league options in spring 2024, Wednesday or Friday night for an 8-week season.

This is a Co-Ed program. A minimum of 2 females must be rostered to each team, with a minimum of 1 female on the field at all times. Full rules are linked in your registration confirmation email.

  • Cost: $75 *
  • Season: 4/3/24 – 5/24/24
  • Location: Lakeridge Middle School
  • Game Night: Wednesday or Friday
  • Time: TBD (expected start time to be between 7:30 pm and 8:45 pm)
  • Game Length: Two x 30-minute halves
  • Roster size: 12 per team
  • League capacity: 72 players
  • Referee for each game
  • Shin guards required

*There is also a Club Fee for $30 which is your Adult Membership for 2024. This is in addition to the registration cost of the program. This is per player, and you will only be charged once per calendar year. This is used to cover insurance and player card costs.

EXPECTATIONS

  • We follow the basic rules of soccer and keep it clean.
  • We respect each other, play fair, and no hard fouls…we all have to work the next day!
  • We also cheer for each other, make new friends, and have fun!

We are playing at Lakeridge Middle School. If locations change, it will be in a location with lights.

Why should adults continue to play recreational sports?

What are the rules for MRFC 7v7 Adult CO-ED Soccer League?

Mt Rainier FC 7v7 Adult CO-ED Soccer League 

General Rules:

Each team will field 6 outfield players and 1 goalkeeper.

  • Players are allowed to be of either gender. This is a Co-Ed-rec program.
  • A minimum of two females will be rostered to each team. A minimum of one female must always on the field during the game.
  • Field size will be approx. 100 x 180 feet. The goal size will be 6’x18’.
  • All game rules, unless specified in this document, will be in accordance with FIFA, international governing body of soccer.

NO GUEST PLAYERS ALLOWED! – all players must be registered with Mt Rainier FC for insurance purposes.

Player Requirements:

  • Teams must have at least 7 field players including a goalkeeper to begin A 7v7 game. If a team does not have the required number of players to start, the opposing team should provide players to balance the teams out to allow for play to begin on time. Late arrivals will be allowed to sub-in when ready. In the event there are not enough players present for a 7v7 game the game shall be modified into a 6v6, 5v5, 4v4 etc. always with a goalkeeper. The field shall be modified as well to an appropriate size.
  • Substitutes are unlimited and “on the fly”.
  • Players must wear team jersey or team practice bib.
  • US Club Soccer footwear is required. NO METAL CLEATS will be allowed. Turf shoes or rubber cleats are recommended.
  • Shin guards are required.

Play Rules:

  • Games will consist of two 30-minute halves. Halftime will consist of 5 minutes. Clock will run nonstop.
  • All fouls are considered an indirect free kick.
  • Tough play is allowed, however, please remember this is a fun recreational league. Emphasis is on having fun, playing with friends, and making new friends in the community.
  • Slide tackling is illegal.
  • Play from the ground is not allowed.
  • Any ball that goes over the Touch Lines will be played in with a throw in. Any ball that travels over the End Lines will result in a goal kick or a corner kick. Corner kicks are to be played per FIFA rules. Free Kicks will be given a minimum of 5 yards by opposing players. Quick restarts are allowed.
  • Goalkeepers are allowed to use their hands inside the designated goal boxes.
  • Keepers are not allowed to “Handle” the ball outside of said area. Goalkeepers are not allowed to pick up balls directly played back by field players of the same team.
  • Goalkeepers are not allowed to kick, punt, or throw the ball past the half line while in the goal box area.
  • The Goalkeeper is allowed to kick past the half line if they are outside the goal box.
  • One bounce drop punts are not allowed. Building from the back is encouraged.
  • Goalkeepers are allowed to slide for oncoming balls into the goal box if safety is taken into consideration for all players.
  • Goalkeepers are allowed to use their hands if the ball is thrown to them by their own team on a throw in and the goalkeeper is in their designated area.
  • There is no offsides rule. However, “Cherry Picking” is discouraged.
  • Referees will be provided by the club.
  • Any verbal or physical abuse toward a referee will warrant immediate suspension from the game and an investigation of the incident. An additional ban can be imposed up to and including one year suspension from the league.
  • Each player is expected to hold themselves in the highest accord with FIFA’s Fair play and Sportsmanship rules. Foul language, inappropriate gestures, violence, intentional dangerous play, and any other activities that violate the rule or spirit of the game, or the rules and Code of Conduct of Mt Rainier FC and/or the rules of its facilities will be subject to discipline, removal, suspension, and/or expulsion from the program.
