Competitive: Premier and Academy Head Coach

Organization: Mt. Rainier FC 

Job Title: Head Coach: Competitive Program

Type: Full Time & Part Time

Reporting Structure: MRFC Director of Coaching

 

The Role: Lead, oversee and support the successful development of soccer players and teams within our competitive program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of the laws of the game.
  • Technical and tactical competence of the game that assists in growth for the individual player and team.
  • Promote positive player habits (on-field), and personal habits (off-field) as an effort to develop/unlock well rounded players.
  • Facilitate learning, using personal skills and experience in combination with Club resources, staff, and continuing education to help players and teams improve their own skills, performance, and competitive competency.
  • Completion of Individual Development Plans 2x a year
  • Commitment to teaching players how to be coachable, remaining open-minded about the potential of all players, and giving constructive feedback.
  • Proactively & professionally work with parent groups, volunteers, coaching team, and players, including maintaining positive communication Club-wide.
  • Professional demeanor on the field at all times, including true respect to opposing team, coaches, players and referees.
  • Provide 3 training sessions per week (excludes matches). Prepare a practice plan for all training sessions and keep a record of practice plans for all sessions.
  • Set goals and objectives, and develop game plans for Games, showing growth progressions, development, and skill for each individual player, as well as team.
  • Dependent on age group; Utilize video analysis
  • Attend Premier Staff meetings as assigned

Qualifications:

  • US Soccer coaching qualifications or equivalent
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • First aid and CPR certification
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Salary Range:

Range depends on experience coaching, coaching licensing and number of teams

Social Media Coordinator (Part-Time)

Organization: Mt. Rainier Athletic Club
Location: Local / Hybrid

Position Overview

MRAC is seeking a Part-Time Social Media Coordinator to support the club’s digital presence and storytelling across social media platforms. This role will help promote club programs, highlight player achievements, and engage the local community through creative content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and publish content across social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, etc.)
  • Capture photos and videos at matches, trainings, and club events
  • Promote club programs, tryouts, camps, and announcements
  • Help maintain a social media content calendar
  • Engage with the community online

Qualifications

  • Interest in soccer and youth sports
  • Experience with social media content creation
  • Basic graphic design or video editing skills
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Commitment

Part-time role with flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends for matches and events.

Volunteer

We are always in need of volunteer coaches to support our Grassroots programs! Coaching your child’s soccer team is an amazing and rewarding experience that children remember. MRFC will provide you with everything you need for a successful season, including practice equipment and lesson plans for training sessions. In addition, registration fees are waived for children of our volunteer coaches!

What Does It Take To Be A Coach?

  • Be a good person and a leader to your players

  • Show up to practices and games

  • Laugh and smile as often as you can, and don’t be afraid to have fun!

To ensure the safety of all our players, all coaches and team personnel are required to complete the following safety courses and a background check:

  1.  SafeSport – renewal required annually

  2. Introduction to Safe and Healthy Playing Environments (Intro to Safety) – renewal required annually

  3. Other MRFC Compliance

These courses will take 2-3 hours. Please budget enough time in your schedule to fully complete them before the start of the season. As a thank you for their volunteerism, Head Coaches of rec teams will be reimbursed for their child’s registration fee. To receive your reimbursement, your safety trainings and certifications must be completed.
