Job Title: Head Coach: Competitive Program
Type: Full Time & Part Time
Reporting Structure: MRFC Director of Coaching
The Role: Lead, oversee and support the successful development of soccer players and teams within our competitive program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Thorough knowledge of the laws of the game.
- Technical and tactical competence of the game that assists in growth for the individual player and team.
- Promote positive player habits (on-field), and personal habits (off-field) as an effort to develop/unlock well rounded players.
- Facilitate learning, using personal skills and experience in combination with Club resources, staff, and continuing education to help players and teams improve their own skills, performance, and competitive competency.
- Completion of Individual Development Plans 2x a year
- Commitment to teaching players how to be coachable, remaining open-minded about the potential of all players, and giving constructive feedback.
- Proactively & professionally work with parent groups, volunteers, coaching team, and players, including maintaining positive communication Club-wide.
- Professional demeanor on the field at all times, including true respect to opposing team, coaches, players and referees.
- Provide 3 training sessions per week (excludes matches). Prepare a practice plan for all training sessions and keep a record of practice plans for all sessions.
- Set goals and objectives, and develop game plans for Games, showing growth progressions, development, and skill for each individual player, as well as team.
- Dependent on age group; Utilize video analysis
- Attend Premier Staff meetings as assigned
Qualifications:
- US Soccer coaching qualifications or equivalent
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- First aid and CPR certification
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Salary Range:
Range depends on experience coaching, coaching licensing and number of teams

Job Title: Soccer Operations: Grassroots Administrator
Type: Full time, 40 hours a week in office
Reporting Structure: MRFC Leadership
The Role: Lead, oversee and support the day-to-day operations of our youth soccer program. This position ensures smooth coordination of grassroots activities, including player registration, scheduling, communication, and event logistics. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and passionate about youth sports development
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Grassroots program consisting of Futures, Recreational and Adult Co-Ed

Oversee and aid in the grassroots program. This includes but is not limited to all day-to-day operations, practices, club communication, compliance and league documentation

Recruit, Educate and Work closely with coaches (Paid and/or Volunteer), community members and operations staff in preparation for tournaments/league play, practices and events.

Coordinate and communicate with fundraisers, events and volunteer staff.

Assist in planning and executing grassroots soccer sessions, camps, and community outreach events

Coordinate game day set up and hosting logistics and communications

Aid Program communication internally between staff and externally with members

Help with the Scheduling /Attending team meetings/Recruitments of Coaches

Work closely with Director of Coaching and other staff in regards to scheduling, rostering, ongoing events, incidents reports, disciplinary and player movement

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

Job Title: Soccer Operations: Assistant Director of Coaching
Type: Full time, 40 hours a week in office/on field
Reporting Structure: MRFC Leadership
Position Overview
The Assistant Director of Coaching (ADOC) oversees all soccer-related programming across Mt. Rainier FC. This includes helping establish club culture, developing players and coaches, managing staff processes, supporting competitive pathways, and maintaining strong communication with families and coaches.
The ADOC will work closely with the MRFC Soccer Executive Committee and collaborate with the Board of Directors when needed.
This is a full-time role (40 hours/week), with required evening and weekend availability.
Areas of Accountability
Functional Responsibilities (10 Hours)

Attend various meetings where needed to provide expertise on soccer related matters
-
In conjunction with the MRFC Soccer Executive Committee, assist in defining and deploying the club‘s soccer culture
-
Assist on disciplinary action regarding trainers, coaches, parents and players – all serious matters should be reported to the BoD
-
Be an easily accessible person that maintains a good rapport with coaches, parents and players.
Player Development (10 Hours)
-
Implement a curriculum for long term development plan for each age group. This curriculum or plan should be continuously evaluated for improvements and changes of philosophy.
-
Attend games and training sessions to ensure the ‘philosophy’ of the club is being followed.

Develop and implement a player evaluation process to provide appropriate periodic feedback
Coaching Development (10 Hours)
-
Recruit and assign coaches to certain programs and teams across the MRFC
-
Evaluate staff turnover, ensuring coaches have development opportunities
-
Manage all feedback, make observations, mentor trainers, etc.
-
Create a program for staff (trainers, parent coaches) development
-
Lead meetings, clinics and seminars to assist improvement in training and parent coaching
-
Provide feedback and ongoing development to ‘guide’ trainers towards the mission of MRFC.
-
Develop and implement a coach / trainer evaluation process.
-
Run preseason meetings with all coaches and answer all questions pertaining to you from parents
-
Develop and improve coaches so that players maximize their potential at all ages
Divisional Responsibilities (7 Hours)

Support Comp admin with team placement in various leagues and tournaments
-
Promote, manage and oversee “Freeplay” Tryout/Evaluation and seasonal associated program
-
Supporting the Travel coordination with regards to Team Formation
-
Support to soccer staff regarding player movement across programs
-
Scheduling training sessions to ensure maximum cohesion and development between teams in similar age groups
-
Manage ‘flow’ between programs and identify players capable of moving between (Across) programs
Other Responsibilities: (3 Hours)

Ensure that any new mandates from our governing bodies are presented to the board for evaluation and potential implementation

Organize, manage and oversee additional programs, tournaments, camps, clinics at the discretion of the Executive Committee
-
Assist in the design and execution of a college recruiting program at the High School ages. (Consider using a “showcase concept” and partnering with local towns)

Provide content for MRFC website to highlight areas of improvement.
Qualifications:
Preferred:

USSF C License, USC National Diploma, or approved international equivalent
-
3+ years of youth coaching experience
-
5+ years of competitive playing experience (club, high school, or collegiate)
-
Strong understanding of the U.S. youth soccer landscape, USSF structure, and Washington State soccer ecosystem
